A Pinterest Sort of Session

When I worked for a commercial photo studio, I always loved it when people came in with their own ideas. Although sometimes they were long sessions with picky moms, I still enjoyed having a unique session. This happened occasionally, especially with moms who came in every month.

When this mom showed me her pages of photos from Pinterest (which did an amazing job of keeping us organized), I knew this was going to be a fun session. (Especially since it didn't include the irritating mom!)

We started with a Christmas set, which I liked immediately, and once we set the lights up I liked it even more. The fireplace and stockings are just picture-perfect!

The session was indoors, after dark. Normally I would have had difficulty in such a setting. However, I was blessed to borrow some lights, and was able to get photos that I never would have otherwise.

Isn't the cat great? As soon as I saw it, I said, "This looks like a cat that should be on a Christmas card."

Next up, individuals of this cutie, imitating pictures of her sister at her age.

I love this one showing off her beautiful blue eyes!

I have a fondness for mirror pictures, and even if it wasn't quite the same as the Pinterest idea that prompted it (what Pinterest idea is?), they turned out cute.

Next, big sister, a natural model with beautiful hair and smiles.

When I saw the feet, I had to take a shot. First doll feet photo ever. A milestone, I'm sure.

It's been a long time since I've done a studio-type shoot with one kid besides my own baby, and it was fun to do again.

Especially with such a willing model!

A few fun ones of Mom and Dad...

and then after some quick clothing changes, we ventured out for a couple snow shots.

Again, the lights were invaluable.

Family photos in pink and gray were next on the agenda.

This included more recreating with the younger pictures they'd taken with the older.

These pictures with Mom and Dad and big sister are some of my favorites of the session.

We wrapped the session up with some cute pictures of the girls together. This one with the lights, definitely Pinterest-worthy. And the book caught the attention of the little one in need of sleep.

Then a few of these, which soon turned into sweet memories of a baby blessed with a brief life here.

We're grateful for them to remember this little one by.

I apologize for the long post. We crammed a lot into this session! It was a fun session, leaving me full of ideas and wanting more.

What fun ideas could you put in your session?
